論文A Complicated Formation of Warm Glow Giving査読有学術雑誌単著NAKAMOTO,YasuhiroAthens Journal of Business and Economics2017年7月 ~2017年7月 We examine what lies behind the act of warm glow giving in a laboratory experiment.
Making use of the experimental design in Crumpler and Grossman (2008, Journal of
Public Economics), we separate the warm glow giving from the altruistic motivation.
We find that the contributions generated by the warm glow giving are highly sensitive
to the reference contribution, indicating to the complementary relationship between
own and the others' contributions. Finally, we make regression to investigate the
relationship between demographic attributes and the contribution generated by the
warm glow
論文Heterogeneous conformism and wealth distribution in a neoclassical growth model査読有学術雑誌国内共著NAKAMOTO,Yasuhiro;MINO, KazuoEconomic TheoryVolume 62, Issue 4, October 2016, Pages 689-7112016年10月 1日~2016年10月 1日This paper explores the role of consumption externalities in a neoclassical growth model in which households have heterogeneous preferences. We find that a higher degree of average conformism accelerates the convergence speed of the economy toward the steady state as in the case of homogeneous conformism. Furthermore, we reveal that the wealth inequality expands or shrinks in the case of heterogeneous conformism, while it does not expand but shrinks in the case of homogeneous conformism.

論文Dynamic Analysis of a Renewable Resource in a Small Open Economy: The Role of Environmental Policies for the Environment査読有学術雑誌国内共著NAKAMOTO,Yasuhiro;FUTAGAMI, KoichiEnvironmental and Resource EconomicsVolume 64, Issue 3, July 2016, Pages 373-3992016年7月 1日~2016年7月 1日We examine the effects of environmental policies such as a subsidy for reforestation and an export-income tax in a small open economy with a renewable resource. In the small economy, the harvested renewable resources are exported to acquire foreign assets and consumers can invest in the natural resource to preserve it. In the setup, we show how the environmental policies affect the natural resource and the domestic economy.
論文Consumption externalities and equilibrium dynamics with heterogeneous agents査読有国内共著NAKAMOTO,Yasuhiro;MINO, KazuoMathematical Social SciencesVolume 64, Issue 3, November 2012, Pages 225–2332012年11月 1日~2012年11月 1日10.1016/j.mathsocsci.2012.04.001This paper explores the effect of consumption externalities on equilibrium dynamics of a standard neoclassical growth model in which there are two types of agents. To emphasize the presence of heterogeneous agents, we distinguish intergroup consumption externalities from intragroup consumption externalities. We show that if there are intragroup consumption externalities alone, then the steady state equilibrium satisfies saddle-point stability and the equilibrium path of the economy is uniquely determined. In contrast, even if the intragroup consumption externalities do not exist, the intergroup external effects of consumption may yield either instability or local indeterminacy of the steady-state equilibrium. In addition to analytical considerations, we show the relationship between the stability and the consumption externalities in numerical examples.
論文Jealousy and underconsumption in a one-sector model with wealth preference査読有学術雑誌単著NAKAMOTO,YasuhiroJournal of Economic Dynamics and ControlVolume 33, Issue 12, December 2009, Pages 2015–20292009年12月 1日~2009年12月 1日10.1016/j.jedc.2009.07.003The present paper examines the effects of consumption externalities on economic performance in a one-sector model with wealth preference. The presence of the wealth preference generates a wealth effect in consumption growth, which plays a crucial role for consumption externalities to have impacts on the economy. Our main findings are: (i) regardless of the assumption of inelastic labor supply, the distortionary effect of consumption externalities stays in the long run; (ii) the income tax as well as the consumption tax can modify the efficiency; and (iii) the numerical simulations supplement theoretical findings.
論文Convergence speed and preference externalities in a one-sector model with elastic labor supply査読有学術雑誌単著NAKAMOTO,YasuhiroEconomics LettersVolume 105, Issue 1, October 2009, Pages 86–892009年10月 1日~2009年10月 1日In a one-sector model with elastic labor supply where consumption and leisure externalities are incorporated, we examine the impact of preference externalities on convergence speed.
論文Consumption externalities with endogenous time preference査読有学術雑誌単著NAKAMOTO,YasuhiroJournal of EconomicsJanuary 2009, Volume 96, Issue 1, pp 41-622009年1月 1日~2009年1月 1日This paper shows that in a model with inelastic labor supply, consumption externalities have impacts on stationary consumption and capital. The key element in observing the effects of consumption externalities on stationary consumption and capital is the endogeneity of the time preference rate, which depends on future-oriented resources rather than on private consumption. We conclude that when individuals experience jealousy, they become more impatient, leading to a lower level of capital stock and a higher level of consumption relative to those of the social optimum, while when they experience admiration, these relationships are reversed. We examine an optimal tax policy that replicates the socially optimal path in the centrally planned economy. Finally, using numerical analysis we explore how this economy evolves through time.
